What a soap can and cannot do

A bar of soap is on your skin for less than a minute, so it cannot change your natural skin tone by itself. A good skin whitening soap keeps skin clean and gives its brightening ingredients a short daily contact. For visible results on dullness and uneven patches, follow your wash with a leave-on product from our whitening creams or serums and ampoules, and wear sunscreen every day.

Bar or liquid?

Bars are practical for the face and body in one, last longer and travel well. If you prefer a pump or tube at the sink, our face wash range covers the same skin needs in a liquid form.

Soap questions we hear often

Which soap is best for skin?

It depends on your skin. Dry skin does best with a moisturising bar such as the Whitening Soap for dry skin. Oily skin likes the Oily version or the Men Beauty Soap. Sensitive skin should start with the Cleanser Soap, which has no tone actives.

Is kojic acid soap safe to use every day?

Most people can use it daily. Kojic acid can tingle on sensitive or freshly shaved skin, so patch test on the inner arm first and stop if you see redness or itching.

What does sulphate-free mean on a soap?

It means the bar has no SLS or SLES, the strong foaming cleansers found in many soaps. Sulphate-free bars usually foam less but feel kinder to dry skin.

Can I use the same soap on my face and body?

Yes. All the bars here can be used on both, though scented bath bars are better kept for the body if your face reacts to fragrance.

How long does a bar of soap last?

A 100g bar used twice a day by one person usually lasts three to four weeks. Keeping it on a draining dish helps it last longer.
