Hair removal cream vs shaving and waxing

• Vs shaving: the cream removes hair slightly below the skin surface, so results last a few days longer and there is less stubble shadow.
• Vs waxing: no pain and no need for hair to grow long first, though waxing results last longer.
• Vs laser: creams are temporary and inexpensive. Laser offers long-term reduction but needs several clinic sessions.

Using a hair removal cream safely

All three products use thioglycolic acid, which is effective but strong. Patch test every new pack 24 hours ahead, keep to the time on the pack, and never use them on the face, eyebrows, intimate areas or broken skin. After use, rinse well, moisturise with an unscented lotion and avoid sun, perfume and deodorant on the treated area for a day.
