How a hair removal cream works
The active ingredient is thioglycolic acid, supported by calcium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide. Together they soften the hair at and just below the skin’s surface, so it wipes away with the cream. Because the hair is removed slightly below the surface rather than cut on top, regrowth usually feels softer and the skin looks smoother for longer than after shaving, with less of the dark stubble shadow.
