The formula is built on petrolatum, mineral oil, beeswax and paraffin wax. These are occlusives: they form a light protective layer that slows down water loss from the skin. That is why it works best on damp skin straight after a shower. You lock in the water that is already there. Vitamin B3 (niacinamide) is added for a more even, healthy-looking finish.
